Some of Nuneaton and Bedworth top athletes, were joined by Oylmpians, coaches , administrators, the Mayor Councillor June Tandy and her Consort Stephen and former Mayors at Weston Hall Hotel, Bulkington, for the annual Nuneaton and Bedworth Sports Forum’s annual awards night. 

A new award, in honour of Olympian Basil Heatley, was present jointly by the Mayor and Basil’s widow Gill to Sam Jephcote for the Junior Volunteer award.  Sam is also a runner and a member of the Nuneaton Harriers.

Junior sports personality was Tom Harper of American flag football, a non contact form of American football.  The Senior sports personality award was awarded to Leyton Ainslie-Huffer, of Nuneaton Tennis club
